Morris Locksmiths can supply and install Master Key Systems. These locking mechanisms are particularly useful for our commercial clients. Landlords often have to have access to many different doors throughout their property portfolio. This potentially means having to have hundreds of different keys, including all of the copies of them for tenants as well.
With a Master Key locking system, it is possible to have a limited number of keys in operation of all of your locks! This means that you no longer have to carry around a huge bunch of keys. It is also possible to have certain keys operate only some of the locks that you have allocated within the lock set up.
Say for example, a landlord rents out 2 blocks of flats. The ‘Grand Master’ key will have access to all of the locks within the 2 different apartment blocks. Each apartment block could have a ‘Master Building’ key which would give access to all of the locks within each block. You could then have a key for all ground floor apartments and then another key for all top floor flats. Then keys for flat number 1-5, 6-10 etc etc. The same principle can be applied to fitting a Master Key system within one single property.
This type of system is great for limiting who can gain access to where. It is also possible to have a restricted entry system so that nobody can have a copy of the key cut without your permission. This adds another level of security to the whole system.
